Present update on songs is this. I've written 16 songs for the album. Eight of them I'm mad for. Five have unfinished lyrics and three are the kind of thing that are going to work out really well when they're played or they're going to be dumpers. Won't know 'till these three are with the band. I've also picked out four old favourites of mine by other artists. These would be covers but I'd only include the best of them on the album. Recording proper will not take that long and we'll have this sucker out by September, I reckon.
One of the new songs has a harmonica thing, but, as I also play guitar on it, I'm going to have to use a harmonica harness on stage to do it properly. It looks a bit like a piece of dental equipment. (See above) We were also given a major fantastic harmonica mike (below) by guitarist David Torn. It gives a brutal, ragged kind of sound.
